Residents of Sta. Maria West gathered in celebration as two major projects were officially inaugurated: the new barangay hall and the four-storey school building with a multipurpose gymnasium at Sta. Maria National High School.

The event was led by Mayor Alicia Primicias-Enriquez, joined by Tayug Mayor Tyrone Agabas, and Municipal Councilors Amorsolo Pulido, Pedrelito Bibat, Queen Descargar, and Kiko Bravo, along with barangay and school officials.

The program began with a blessing, ribbon-cutting, and unveiling of the project marker, officiated by Pastor Rodel L. Sarmiento, who also led the invocation. This was followed by the singing of Pilipinas Kong Mahal and opening remarks from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐒. 𝐎𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐳, OIC/Assistant School Principal II. Dr. Ortiz shared the inspiring journey of Sta. Maria NHS from expanding classrooms to building a gym that now serves as a venue for joyful and meaningful gatherings for both students and the community. He also reflected on his personal journey as an educator, expressing gratitude for the support of Congresswoman Marlyn “Len” Primicias-Agabas, which helped him rise to his current leadership role.

𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐋. 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐳 expressed heartfelt thanks to Cong. Marlyn and Mayor Alice for their dedication to public service. He pledged to continue improving services and promoting excellence for the benefit of his constituents, especially with the new barangay hall now in place.

In her message, Mayor Alicia Primicias-Enriquez praised the strong partnership between the school and barangay, which she said has contributed to the overall progress of Sta. Maria West. She thanked the community for supporting the initiatives of Cong. Marlyn and the LGU San Nicolas, and encouraged everyone to keep striving for their dreams, for their families, their community, and the town of San Nicolas, with the assurance of continued support from the local government.

Congresswoman Marlyn Primicias-Agabas recalled the development milestones of Sta. Maria West from the covered gym that provides shelter during events, to the new barangay hall known for its cleanliness and order, and the sturdy four-storey school building that stands as a symbol of quality education. She expressed hope that these structures will help improve learning and inspire students to aim higher. She ended her message with a powerful reminder: “Love what is good and right, and reject what is bad and wrong.”

The program concluded with the turnover and acceptance ceremony, followed by words of gratitude from SBM Lolita Manzano of the Committee on Education, and closing remarks from PTA President Allan P. Marquez. The event was hosted by Mrs. Mercy S. Marquez and Ms. Aljean D. Lorenzo.

After the program, the community shared a hearty lunch, reflecting the joy, unity, and gratitude of Sta. Maria West for the new blessings that will serve generations to come.
