BRIEF SOCIO-ECONOMIC PROFILE
The stature of Poblacion East as a barangay started way back in 1958 under the administration of the late Mun. Mayor Bueneventura Rillorta. Of the 4 barangay in the town proper, Poblacion East has covering some its jurisdiction important landmarks like the Municipal hall and the public plaza, the public market and the different churches. It is not surprising that the barangay from the national government.
Existing records – documents show that the first set of officer of the barangay has its chairman, Vice Chairman and Councilmen. The first set of barangay officials included Mr. Teofilo Songcuan, as Chairman, Crispin Anchiboy, Ernesto Magabo, Patrocianio Martinez, Dr. Porficio Gonzales, Pedro Ortiguero, Bonifacia Serquiña, members of the barangay council.
