Indeed, we cannot ignore the importance of financial transparency in the LGU operations. That is why those that are directly involved in the financial aspect of our governance ensure that our financial health is always in tip-top shape.
Just recently, I had a meeting with the Local Finance Committee to share with me the updates of the utilization of funds for the 2023 fiscal year then we proceeded with the initial planning for the 2024 budget. They also shared with me updates on government financial processes and their learning in the recently-concluded Budget Forum that theyโve attended in the City of Vigan.
Personally, I strongly believe that when numbers are openly shared, better decisions can be made, and finance is increasingly perceived by our people as a positive attribute in the LGU operations. And since our goal is to ensure better planning and better budgeting, we always make sure that financial information is shared.
Kailian, rest assured that financial transparency is alive and well in the way we govern our local government and that we always practice due diligence with respect to the utilization of our funds in order to drive our town forward.
