I am extremely delighted to formally introduce the official magazine of San Nicolas, Pangasinan under my administration—Hiraya.
Hiraya is an ancient Tagalog word which means “vision; the fruit of one’s hopes, dreams, and aspirations”. It is a concept that has ancient Filipino roots; a powerful word that gives the potential of the future, of tomorrow, to illuminate on the present. There is no other word that comes closest to the future and the promise that this may hold. And that is the glow of the word hiraya for it subsumes in it the idea of hope, of getting and realizing soon-to-come benefits.
The 24-page Hiraya is my report to the beautiful people of San Nicolas. I and my team compiled the accomplishments of the local government from July 2019 to March 2022 as evident in the sectors of health, tourism, education, infrastructure, agriculture, livelihood, and social services, including support to indigenous peoples, green initiatives, skills training, and employment.
We also asked the opinion of the ordinary San Nicolanians and made sure that their voices are heard. Hiraya also highlighted “Si Super Alice at ang Lugar na Pinakamasaya” artistically illustrated by comic artist Clyde Aedriel Rafael.
I was also interviewed by the Team Hiraya where you get to know me more as a wife, mother, child, and a public servant. You also get a glimpse of who I am as an ordinary person like you through the amusing Fast Talk.
My beloved San Nicolanians, what is your favorite part of Hiraya? Or shall I say, what changes in San Nicolas inspired you the most?
Thank you for being with me for my first three years as your local chief executive. I am looking forward to spending the next three years with you. Join me as we walk hand in hand towards a brighter, better, and a more transformative San Nicolas, Pangasinan My Home, My Pride.
May the wishes of our heart be granted! Hiraya manawari!
