Oscar Wilde, an Irish wit who is a famous poet, novelist and dramatist in the 19th century, once coined that “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲.”

Well, Oscar Wilde certainly knows because aside from his colorful career, he is also a father of two.

Thus, it is just fitting to save a day during our fiesta to celebrate our children, which is why we will be celebrating “𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲” 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟖, 𝐚 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐬 of our beloved town in aid to develop their personality, talents and abilities to the full, promote the importance of a safe and health childhood, remind them of the positive values such as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment, and most of all to develop them as an important part of the San Nicolas community along with the grownups.

This event will also allow otherwise busy parents to spend time with their kids in this memorable occasion and make them realize the importance of spending precious moments with them.

As a busy parent myself, I know the challenges facing every parent of San Nicolas every single day, which is why a moment of this kind is really special not only for the kids but for the parents themselves.

I have arranged a series of wholesome events fitting for this celebration to include a thematic parade at 8:00am accompanied by drum and lyre corps and Marvel characters, kiddos zumba presentations, song and dances, calisthenics show, Search for the Best Anime/Marvel/Enchanted Kingdom Attire, magical shows, and the giving out of prizes.

May this event for our children aid us to further promote harmony within our community and may it also reflect our commitment to work at improving the well-being of our children to their specific needs, and encourage their participation to play a significant part for our dream and vision of a better San Nicolas.

Let me thank the support of my loving sister, 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐰. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐋. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐬-𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬, who has been always there with us every step of the way.

With the assistance of the Sangguniang Bayan under the able stewardship of Vice Mayor Alvin Bravo and the preparation of the Committee in charge of this event headed by Ms. Delia Dalutag along with Councilor Amorsolo Pulido, Councilor Queenie Descargar, Armando Ramos, Francisco Ladia Jr., Bernardo Fabro, and the MSWDO staff, I am sure that those attending this event will have a wonderful, productive, and rewarding time so I extend my invitation to everyone to join us in this momentous merrymaking with our children.
