The Municipality of San Nicolas is beefing up its health program for the underprivileged sector of the community to put into place the main building blocks for a sound protection system for pregnant women, persons with chronic illness, lactating mothers and indigent families.
Mayor Alicia L. Primicias-Enriquez has announced that the local government of San Nicolas is giving out Philhealth cards to 93 indigent members of the community.
βThis is very important especially to our pregnant women, those with chronic illness, persons with disability, lactating mothers and indigent families because with this Philhealth card, they can have access to a comprehensive package of services to be provided both by the Department of Health and Philhealth.
βWe specifically allotted funding for this program so it will be a relief for our indigents in their health needs and for them not to be further burdened by unnecessary costs of inpatient or outpatient treatment as well as during their deliveries,β Mayor Alice noted.
She said the municipality will continue to prioritize health programs of this kind to address the needs and protect the health of the townspeople in these challenging times.
βSeeing their priceless smiles are already enough to note that they are appreciating what their LGU is doing for them and it really warms my heart,β she shared.
