A remarkable medical-dental consultation event attended by 63 patients brought hope and healing to the local community in Brgy. Fianza as healthcare professionals from the Rural Health Unit of San Nicolas addressed the most pressing health concerns of the residents.

The consultation revealed that upper respiratory tract infection was the most common ailment, affecting 26.5% of the patients. This was followed by hypertension at 16.9%, and tension headaches at 6%. Other notable health issues included acute tonsillopharyngitis gastroesophageal reflux disease at 4.8%, and a tie between Pulmonary tuberculosis, contact dermatitis, and allergic rhinitis each at 3.6%.

Amidst the medical consultations, dental health was not overlooked. Rural Health Dentist Dr. Avalisa Agnes Prado provided invaluable education on proper dental hygiene and personally consulted two patients, emphasizing the importance of oral care in overall health.

The event was spearheaded by the Rural Health Physician Dr. Eunice Kate Abacco, alongside Dr. Prado, Midwife Cresencia L. Busca, Nurse Vaccinator Noel C. Baloca, and Kristel Joy A. Espos and Trisha T. Romero of Rural Health Midwives Placement Program whose leadership and commitment to the well-being of Brgy. Fianza’s residents were the driving force behind the successful outreach.

This medical-dental consultation highlights the critical role of accessible healthcare services in rural areas and the positive impact such initiatives have on community health.

As Brgy. Fianza continues to face health challenges, the unwavering support of its healthcare providers and the local government of San Nicolas ensures that every resident has the opportunity to lead a healthier, happier life.
