Lady Mayor Alicia inspired and motivated over eighty (80) Grade 12 Immersion Students as she delivered heartfelt personal advices during the Orientation Workshop for Immersion Students – Thursday, 20 April.

Over 80 students from Red Arrow High School, Divine Grace Montessori & High School and Sto Tomas National High School commenced their eighty-hours work immersion with a fun and unforgettable one day workshop.

The Human Resource Management & Development Office (HRMDO) headed by HRMD Officer Tabitha Andrea Ylarde facilitated an orientation program which she called “Productivity Today; Training Workshop for Work Immersion”. The one day workshop included various collaborative activities, expectation setting, getting to know, writing their life timeline to their future selves and building the dream. All the students also had the chance to have an open and interactive discussion with Mayor Alice as they exchanged views and insights on career matters and were able to tour LGU grounds and different Departments.

Also present were Work Immersion Advisers, Sir Anthony P Alegre and Sir Elias P Tampoya (Sto Tomas NHS), Sir Marion N Curate and Maam Cassandra Valdez (Red Arrow HS), Maam Jennifer B Bialen and Maam Ma. Eloisa A Escobar (Divine Grace Montessori and HS).

Orientation is a chance for students to learn how things are; it is a good start which smoothens the transition to a new level and the independence that comes with it.

This is already the second batch of Immersion Students, the first batch had a total of forty-eight (48). There are also nine (9) OJT college students from different universities such as Tarlac State University, Pangasinan State University and Urdaneta City University.

The workshop ended with a reflection activity wherein all students poured their hearts out as they have emotionally voiced out their dreams and their reasons for reaching it. Students were all tears as they came to realize (through the activity) the very reason behind what and who they are now – their parents and their family.

Hindi lang mayor, doktor, nars at pharmacist pa”, shared one of the students during the expectation setting activity.

According to the students, this workshop is very unforgettable and is truly one to cherish forever; once again thanking LGU San Nicolas and Mayor Alicia L Primicias Enriquez for such an experience.
