My task was to take them. But this day, I feel that there’s wrong with my task. I went to the lake to get them. One of them is destined to die and I need to take the one who is named “Eve”. They are twins; the most tough part is that they are like clones. Making it hard to say if it is Eve or Eva. “Who is Eve?” I asked them.
Two twins are doomed to die. Eve was the first twin, and next to her was Eva. Eve was the one I would take to the other side, but two twins came and stood in front of me. They also asked about my identity. “I am death, and Eve must come with me,” | said, but they both looked frightened and claimed to be Eva. I said that Eva’s fate would be the same soon, and they could not fool me.
I don’t have time for their games.
They asked if they could both go with me, but I can not allow that, since I don’t want to spoil their fate. They asked me If I was sure that Eva would die too. I know that if the time comes for her to leave this world, I will be the one to take her.
All I know is that no one can cheat death.
“Eve must come with me,” I said once more. They both looked scared. “What if the wrong twin comes with you?” one of the twins asked. “Then you would have tricked death,” I said to both of them. I saw that they talked, then hugged and one of them stood in front of me. She fixed her gaze in a firm, but still, she looked scared and sad. I think it was Eva who gave up to give more time to her twin. But I still did not talk, so as not to say their failed plan.
No one lies in front of their own death.
So, I asked how they came up with their choice. “We drew lots, we threw our pendants of our necklace,” she said while staring at the lake. They had put their faith in fate, how foolish they were! They know that fate has its own set of rules, which is right.
But it is also my friend.
Fate would not let the wrong girl come with me. My job was done in that part. She must have been Eve. But, the pendant suddenly dropped and it had Eva’s name carved on both sides. So, my first guess was true; they were far too smart to trick both fate and death! One thing is sure: I will put it back all in its right place.
I will fix my wrong acts and give fate back its veil!
