A phase by phase development of Agpay Eco-Tourism Park will soon magnify its natural beauty as the Local Government Unit of San Nicolas eyes a comprehensive improvement of this historic destination which has become a byword of people from all walks of life.
This is the assurance of Mayor Alicia L. Primicias-Enriquez following the appreciation walk that she conducted at Agpay Eco-Park together with the members of the Agpay Development Committee.
βOur game plan is to develop a pleasant, ecological park filled with different kind of leisure activities especially suited for bonding moments and family gatherings as we endeavor to make Agpay Eco Park a family destination more than a tourist destination,” Mayor Alice said.
Initially, Mayor Alice and the Committee had identified the following future amenities in addition to the array of swimming pools now in place at the park:
Greenhouse facility and vertical gardens
A butterfly garden to house and showcase all endemic species of butterflies
Tagging of all endemic and native species of trees
Introduction of support infrastructures such as training center and accommodation facilities
Construction of a parking area to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles entering the park
Construction of additional green spaces for visitors
Building a fish pond for fishing enthusiasts
Obstacle course and camping site
Introduction and institutionalization of water survival and swimming program
βWe hope to develop Agpay Eco Tourism Park as our flagship tourism destination that can offer a variety of amenities and services to all its visitors. If this becomes a reality, it will have a tremendous impact on our economy, create a lot of jobs, and will definitely have a positive effect on the livelihood of our people. I hope all the people of San Nicolas will share with our prayer for it to be realized soon,β Mayor Alice noted.
As of this time, there has been an ongoing cleaning works in the area to pave way for the next phase of the ecoparkβs development.
