The newly-reconstituted San Nicolas Tourism, Heritage and the Arts Council convened for a momentous meeting, and we couldn’t have timed it better as we are celebrating this month the National Tourism Month and the Philippine Creative Industries Month.

With main agenda on Cultural Mapping, orientation of which was given by Environmental Planner and NCCA Trainer Gerald Paragas, the Committee headed by 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐋. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐬-𝐄𝐧𝐫𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐳 as chairperson has shown its full support on this cultural mapping activity in compliance with RA 10066, otherwise known as the National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009, and the newly enacted Republic Act 11969 or the Cultural Mapping Act mandating local government units to maintain an inventory of cultural properties under their jurisdiction and furnish the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) a copy of said inventory for submission to the Philippine Registry of Heritage (PREH). Through this law, LGUs can move for the preservation and protection of identified cultural properties.

Mayor Alice is assisted by 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐨 as its vice chairperson while members include Councilor Leomar Saldivar, chairperson of the Committee on Tourism; Councilor Amorsolo Pulido, chairperon of the Committee on Education, Culture and Sports; Emelyn Manangan, focal person of the Municipal Tourism Office; Engr.
