Many people lack access to electricity. Households with no electricity make do with candles and kerosene gas lamps for their lighting needs. Electricity provides luminosity so students can learn better. It enables farmers to maintain adequate level of production through proper storage of crops. It helps keep communities safer at night, thus giving a better quality of life for the benefited residents.

β€œTo promote social and economic development, we must expand access to energy”, the Local Chief Executive stated. The electrification program of LGU San Nicolas is done every year. This year, we have one hundred twenty (120) beneficiaries. According to PANELCO III, only LGU San Nicolas has an electrification program that’s LGU funded, within their jurisdiction. β€œOnly LGU San Nicolas can fund its own electrification program”, PANELCO III shared.

Within four (4) years, from FY 2020-2023, there is already a total of five hundred thirty (530) recipients of the said program.

Recently, the LGU conducted an orientation seminar for the electrification program. The orientation was graced by Mayor Alice together with Ma’am Leslie N. Soriano and Engr. Peter Cesario of PANELCO III.

β€œIt has always been my dream that every household in San Nicolas saan mang baryo at gaano man kalayo ay magkaroon ng access sa kuryente. Darating din sa punto na wala ni isang bahay ang walang kuryente dito sa ating bayan”, Mayor Alice said. β€œIto ay aking mumunting tulong upang mapagaan ang buhay ng aking mga kababayan”, she added.

San Nicolanians are very happy and joyed hearing about the electrification program. Tunay nga namang ilaw para sa mga bahay ang hatid ng ilaw ng tahanan ng San Nicolas.

Slots are now open for the incoming year 2024 electrification program. For those who are interested to avail of the program, the Office of the Mayor is always open for inquiries.
