The local government of San Nicolas, under the administration of Mayor Alicia L. Primicias-Enriquez, has bagged its second Good Financial Housekeeping recognition from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for the year 2021.
With much pride and honor, Mayor Alice said the recognition from the DILG proves that “the San Nicolas LGU has proven itself to be financially transparent” and that it was able to “spend its funds wisely for the previous year.”
“Pangalawang beses na natin makuha ito sa buong kasaysayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal ng San Nicolas. Last time, I already said that I will not tolerate a dismal performance under my watch. We will always aim to do better for the San Nicolanians,” Mayor Alice said.
“Indeed, hard work and perseverance pay off. This is one big step towards ensuring excellence in local governance and showing each San Nicolanian that its local government is truly matino, mahusay at maaasahan,” Mayor Alice concluded.
The Good Financial Housekeeping Award recognizes the compliance of the local government unit with accounting and auditing standards, rules and regulations and Full Disclosure Policy. It is a measure of transparency and accountability in its financial transactions.
More importantly, GFH is among the requirements a local government unit must achieve in order to acquire the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
