The local government unit of San Nicolas is all set for the upcoming All Saintsโ€™ Day and All Soulsโ€™ Day on Nov. 1 and 2, respectively, as Mayor Alicia L. Primicias-Enriquez assured that all the needed preparations and coordinations have been made to ensure that everything will be in place.

The preparations, Mayor Alice said, was finalized during the recent meeting of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) wherein the essential guidelines for this yearโ€™s celebration of UNDAS was promulgated.

The guidelines include the implementation of one-way zones, temporary parking areas, restrictions on the premises of the public cemetery, and the enumeration of list of dontsโ€™ aimed at reminding everyone to ensure that the visits to their departed loved ones be a meaningful time for reflection and remembrance.

For this yearโ€™s celebration, Mayor Alice said the โ€œlist of dontsโ€™โ€include the prohibition of liquor and other alcoholic beverages, combustible materials such as portable cooking stoves and LPGs , firearms (except with security clearances), sharp objects, loud sound devices such as karaoke or videoke, gambling paraphernalia (e.g. deck of cards), littering and overnight staying.

โ€Let us all remember that the essence of Undas is to remember our dearly departed. So we ask everyone to observe the protocols in order to ensure public order and safety as we celebrate this occasion. Letโ€™s observe Undas 2023 meaningfully and crime-free,โ€ she urged.

Mayor Alice, who also personally supervised the clean-up of the public cemetery in preparation for Undas, has appealed to everyone who plans to visit the graveyard of their departed loved ones to maintain the cleanliness in the area.

โ€Our dedicated TUPAD team works tirelessly to prepare our public cemetery pristine and respectful so as we approach Undas 2023, let’s cherish the memories of our loved ones by also observing cleanliness wherever we are at our cemetery,โ€ she appealed.

โ€At this point, Iโ€™d like to extend my gratitude to our dedicated TUPAD members for their hardwork as we prepare our public cemetery for our kailians visiting their departed loved ones. Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyo,โ€ she happily said.
