Saturday is still work day for Mayor Alice as she devoted most of her time today with a heavy schedule of various events being staged in the municipality .

The Mayor started the day with a successful payout of the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) for 524 indigent Senior Citizens held at the Municipal Gymnasium.

The UCT is a program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. It is given to poor families to cope with the impact of the tax reform law. Beneficiaries of the UCT will receive P2,400, which is a one-shot deal assistance to senior citizens 64 years old and older who had been identified through the National Household Targeting System.

In between, she visited the cemetery in preparation for the upcoming All Saints’ Day. She was joined by VM Alvin Bravo, Councilors Leomar Saldivar and Jun Serquiña.

Also during the day, Mayor Alice visited the resettlement area in San Felipe East. Said resettlement area has not been used due to the absence of water and electric utilities.

In the afternoon, Mayor Alice attended the Brgy Assembly in Sta. Maria West. Also present were Provincial Director Mr. Randy dela Rosa, Cluster Leader Mr. Rogelio Quitola, Vice Mayor Alvin Bravo, Councilor Kiko Bravo, ABC President Jason Ramirez and Chief of Police Captain Antonino Cuaresma. Brgy. Sta. Maria West was the showcase barangay for the Entire Province of Pangasinan, having been selected because of its good governance practice including the solid waste management ordinance .

The holding of Barangay Assembly is mandated by Section 397 of the Local Government Code of 1991 or the Republic Act No. 7160. The law mandates that the barangay assembly shall meet at least twice a year to hear and discuss the semestral report of the barangay concerning its activities and finances as well as problems affecting the community.
