The Local Government of San Nicolas hosted the first-ever Child Development Workers’ (CDW) Congress at San Roque Gymnasium on December 14, 2019. With the theme “Tayo ang Bida sa Mata ng mga Bata”, this event honors not just the child development workers but their great contribution in our society.

The activity was spearheaded by Municipal Mayor Alicia Primicias-Enriquez along with the Representative of the 6th District of Pangasinan, Hon. Tyrone D. Agabas, who served as the guest of honor and speaker. It was attended by all the Child Development Workers in different municipalities and was facilitated by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

In her message, Mayor Alice thanked all the CDWs for the hard work and dedication they’ve shown to the children.

“Nais ko pong pasalamatan ang ating mga CDWs. You really served as model of effective service enriching parent’s knowledge to take care of their children. Ipagpatuloy po ninyo ang pagiging magandang ehemplo sa mga bata”, she vowed.

Meanwhile, Congressman Agabas stressed that education is the most important tool towards child development and the CDWs are the shaping tool of the young minds to become effective and efficient citizens of the next generation.

In the evening, Mayor Alice graced the opening of the Festival of Talents held at the San Nicolas Municipal Auditorium. Students from San Nicolas National High School were the first in line to showcase their skills and talents.

The Local Government Unit of San Nicolas cupped the Festival of Talents to be held in the Municipal Auditorium every Saturdays and Sundays starting December 14 to January 12, 2020. The participants of National High Schools will showcase their best talents and skills through exhibitions of services and performances as evidence of their learning in various areas.
