The Local Government of San Nicolas spearheaded by Mayor Alicia Primicias-Enriquez through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office, conducted the Social Pension Program Payout to approximately 1470 senior citizens held at the Municipal Gymnasium.
The MSWD clarified that not all senior citizens are qualified to receive the social pension provided under Republic Act 9994 or the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010. The said law provides for the criteria for the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens (SPISC) program, which provides a monthly stipend of Php 500 to beneficiaries.
These include seniors who are frail, sickly or with disability; without any pension from other government agencies and without a permanent source of income or source of financial assistance/compensation to support their basic needs.
Subsequently, Mayor Alice attended the first-ever Barangay Tanod Congress held at Natividad Gymnasium. Representative of the 6th District of Pangasinan, Hon. Atty. Tyrone D. Agabas initiated the event to show respect and appreciation to all barangay police officers who patrols even during midnight to maintain peace and order.
After the congress, Mayor Alice also attended the Christmas Party of San Roque Association of Persons with Disability (PWD) held at San Roque Barangay Hall.
At noon, Mayor Alice went straight to the San Roque Gymnasium to join the K7 Sisterhood in their merry and joyful Christmas celebration. K7 Sisterhood is an association of ‘Kababaihan’ which supports all the programs and advocacies of the administration.
In the evening, San Rafael National High School students dazzled the audience by the beauty of their performances during the Festival of Talents at the Municipal Auditorium. Afterwards, the untiring Mayor graced the Nagkaysa and the DALUSAFI District Christmas Party. DALUSAFI comprises Brgy. Dalumpinas, Brgy. Lungao, Brgy. Salingcob and Brgy. Fianza. The celebration was full of excitement and was successfully held.
