New Year, New Hope!
Mayor Alice kicked off the first Monday of January by leading the flag-raising ceremony wherein she encouraged all the municipal officials and employees of the local government to continue providing the best services to the people.
“As we make our resolutions for 2020, let us go forward with great hope that together, all things can be possible – with the help and guidance of our Lord. Let us continue to work as a team and help one another. And let us strive for the change we really want to see in our town”, she noted.
She then served as one of the principal sponsors during the church wedding of Mr. Joshua Patrick Hufana and Ms. Lourine Cocotan held at St. Nicholas de Tolentino Parish.
After the wedding, Mayor Alice graced the Local Council for Women (LCW), Samahan ng mga Kababaihan (SAMAKA) – San Nicolas Chapter, and Kalipuna ng Liping Pilipina Nasyonal, Inc. (KALIPI) Joint Holiday Celebration at the Municipal Gymnasium.
“One of the major thrust of my administration is to ensure that the services rendered by the Local Government Unit are responsive to women’s concerns and problems. For we strongly believe that a community with empowered women is a community well-geared towards progress”, the mayor said in her holiday message.
In the evening, Mayor Alice also served as the guest speaker during the San Rafael East Mr. & Mrs. Christmas Party and Gift-Giving Night. The theme of the event “Let’s unite through music and inspire others through giving” proved that ‘bayanihan’ spirit in the town is still alive.
