Another batch of beneficiaries are about to receive emergency employment to help them with their financial needs.
The Department of Labor and Employment – Regional Field Office 1 (DOLE-RFO1) conducted a Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) orientation to 863 beneficiaries of San Nicolas held at San Roque ANP Pilot School.
The said project will be funded through the initiative of Congressman Tyrone D. Agabas of the 6th Congressional District of Pangasinan. The implementation is through the Local Government Unit of San Nicolas as DOLE Accredited Co-Partner.
Graced by Congressman Tyrone D. Agabas and former Congresswoman Marlyn L. Primicias-Agabas, the orientation was part of the pre-implementation phase of the TUPAD program.
In his message, Congressman Agabas urged the beneficiaries to diligently perform their tasks and help the local government in making San Nicolas a clean and green and garbage-free municipality.
Ms. Mary Jane D. Hufana, TUPAD focal person, said each TUPAD beneficiary will be designated according to his or her respective barangay. The beneficiaries will engage in short-term community work to provide them with emergency/temporary wage employment and will work for the period of 10 days receiving Php 360.00 as daily wage rate.
Meanwhile, Municipal Mayor Alicia L. Primicias-Enriquez highlighted the basic information about the livelihood program as well as the assistance package that includes payment of wages.
“In behalf of the 863 beneficiaries, I would like to convey my sincerest gratitude to Sec. Silvestre Bello III of DOLE, Congressman Tyrone Agabas and former Congresswoman Marlyn Primicias-Agabas for extending such timely program to the people of San Nicolas,” she expressed.
In addition, Congressman Agabas also turned over one brand new grass cutter to each barangay in order to maintain cleanliness and proper waste segregation in the barangay level.
Also joining the event were TUPAD Coordinator Ms. Rowena Osquiza, Vice Mayor Alvin O. Bravo, other members of the Sangguniang Bayan and Barangay Captains.
