For the third consecutive year, Congressman Tyrone D. Agabas hopes to brighten the holidays for an often overlooked segment of the barangay council — its Tanods.

In coordination with LGU San Nicolas under the leadership of Mayor Alicia L. Primicias-Enriquez, Congressman Agabas called for a “Barangay Tanod Thanksgiving Day” which was held at San Roque ANP Pilot School.

“We wanted to show our tanods how much we appreciate them, so we decided to honor them with a Thanksgiving Day. It’s a time for them to come together and feel that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed,” he shared.

Meanwhile, Mayor Alice, the Chairperson of the Peace and Order Council, emphasized the importance of the Barangay Tanod and thanked them for their great contribution in ensuring peace and order.

“Thank you for helping us out in securing our communities in the barangay level. Through your joint efforts and coordination, it was observed that crimes in the entire town was significantly reduced,” Mayor Alice noted.

The presence of Barangay Tanods in the 33 barangays of San Nicolas serves as the immediate responders in the crime occurrence especially at the far-flung barangays.

Also present in the occasion were former Congresswoman Atty. Marlyn L. Primicias-Agabas, Vice Mayor Alvin Bravo, Councilor Jun Serquiña, Councilor Queen Descargar, Councilor Raymond Prestoza, Councilor Leomar Saldivar, Police Captain George Banayos Jr., and Senior Fire Officer IV Ronnie Mamaril.
