There is no excuse for the interruption of the feeding program for pre-schoolers, not even the pandemic could stop the local government unit from pushing on with the continuity of this program that has been proven to be a very effective intervention for school-age children against malnutrition.

This was the declaration of Mayor Alice Primicias-Enriquez as she announced the three-day schedule of the supplemental feeding program in various Child Development Centers (CDCs) in the municipality.

A program in which food is provided to pre-schoolers to prevent or treat malnutrition, supplementary feeding not only aims to increase the kids’ energy intake but also increase consumption of micronutrients like iron, iodine and vitamin A.

In a schedule released by the Office of the Mayor, it shows that the feeding program will cover the following areas on Tuesday, January 18, under the following period:

🟦1:30pm-2:00pm (Bensican CDC)

🟦2:30pm-3:00pm (Dalumpinas CDC)

🟦3:00pm-3:30pm (Salingcob CDC)

🟦3:30pm-4:00pm(Lungao CDC)

🟦4:00pm-4:30pm(Sobol CDC)

On Wednesday, January 19, the areas to be covered by the feeding program are as follows:

🟦9:00am-9:30am (San Roque CDC)

🟦9:35am-10:00am (Nagkaysa CDC)

🟦10:15am-10:30am (San Jose CDC)

🟦 10:35am-11:00am (Nining CDC)

🟦11:15am-11:45am (Pob East CDC)

🟦1:00pm-1:30pm (Cabitnongan CDC)

🟦1:35pm-2:00pm (Calaocan CDC)

🟦2:10pm-2:30pm ( Sitio Cabaruan , Sta. Maria West CDC)

🟦2:35-4:00pm (NCDC Sta. Maria West)

On Thursday, January 20, the areas to be covered by the feeding program are as follows:

🟦8:00am-9:00am (Waling-waling CDC- Fianza)

🟦 9:00am-10:00am (Sunflower CDC Lagpan San Felipe East)

🟦10:15am-10:30am (Casilagan San Felipe East)

🟦10:35am-11:45am (Covered Gym San Felipe East)

🟦1:00pm-1:30pm (Calanutian CDC)

🟦1:35pm-2:00pm (Camindoroan CDC)

🟦2:15pm-3:00pm (Poinsettia CDC Sto. Tomas)

🟦3:15pm-4:00pm (Malilion CDC)

Mayor Alice said each pre-schooler beneficiary shall receive the following food packs:

✅3 pieces of Nutrimilk

✅3 pieces of freshly-baked Nutribun

According to Mayor Alice, a total number of 550 pre-schoolers will be benefiting in this feeding program which is part of the DSWD’s Supplemental Feeding Program to be implemented by the Municipal Social and Welfare Development (MSWD) personnel headed by Ms. Delia Dalutag.

Due to the restrictions because of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, only parents or official guardians of the beneficiaries will be allowed to claim the packs at their respective CDCs.
