And now, let’s talk about the bright side.

A FREE international-standard skills training on haircutting, manicure and pedicure with nail art has been set to be held in San Nicolas, the first set of which will be conducted this May.

The 10-day skills training program, with a limited participants of 25 persons per set, is a partnership project between the Municipality of San Nicolas and MAXIMA Technical Skills Training Institute, Inc., an institution under the supervision of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Under the partnership, MAXIMA will provide the trainers who have been competing internationally, administer the mandatory competency assessment of the trainees, as well as provide the needed tools, equipment, supplies and materials for the skills training. On the other hand, San Nicolas will determine the participant-beneficiaries and also provide the training venue including the supplemental supplies required by the training program plus the other necessities.

Mayor Alice said that in order to make the training more accessible to interested San Nicolanians, it will be held at the Municipal Gymnasium considering that it will require an 8-hour session per day for 10 straight days.

“So I am inviting all those interested individuals to avail of this training by enlisting themselves at the Mayor’s Office because we need to evaluate first the supposed beneficiaries to make sure they are fit to undertake this kind of training,” she announced.

“I’m really grateful to TESDA Provincial Director Jimmicio S. Daoaten for introducing to us TESDA-partner schools with a heart like MAXIMA led by its school head, Ms. Susana Ellorin-Tandoc, which is conducting this particular training as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. San Nicolas LGU is really honored to be a part of this endeavor that will further enhance the capability of our constituents in this particular field of expertise. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart,” she noted.

Successful graduates of the training will be provided their own starter kits, which means that they are good to start their business right away after their graduation.

For interested individuals, please look for Rose at the Mayor’s Office.
