IN BRGY. STA. MARIA EAST, SITIO TALINGKAPOR THIS 2023

Provincial Veterinary Office and San Nicolas local government through Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) are providing free veterinary health services in Brgy. Sta. Maria East Sitio Talingkapor.

As one of its main thrusts, MAO is conducting a series of anti-blackleg vaccination as well as administration of vitamins and dewormers in select barangays to prevent the mortality of large animals due to blackleg infection and to maintain a healthy large animal population in the municipality.

“Blackleg is a fatal disease of cattle which produces an acute local infection, and the resulting blood poisoning leads to rapid death. But the good news is, it’s almost entirely preventable by vaccination,” said Engr. Cristopher Serquiňa, municipal agriculturist.

Mayor Alice appealed to barangay captains and officials for their full support by assisting the vaccination team and by calling their constituents who are cattle raisers to be participative in the program.

Scheduled every 9 o’clock in the morning, veterinary health services are slated in the following barangays: Cacabugaoan (January 16), San Felipe East (January 23), and San Felipe West (January 30).

Toxipra Plus, an inactivated vaccine against Enterotoxaemia, tetanus, and blackleg, is being utilized by the vaccination team.
