Construction is now underway as the local government starts the massive facelift of the old and dilapidated public market, which is among the local government’s priority infrastructure projects.

Municipal Mayor Alicia L. Primicias-Enriquez personally visited the site and she expects the simultaneous repair works on the market to be completed this year, as she vowed to renovate the public market under a modernization program.

The construction workforce are currently placing palm trees at the façade of the public market. The local government also plans to construct an atrium inside the market, alongside with modern wet and dry sections, organized market stalls, restrooms, and parking area.

Mayor Alice said she pushed for the implementation of the project to open up fresh opportunities for residents, especially the business sector, and eventually generate more income for the local government.

She then inspected the drainage canals as well as the public toilets to ensure its cleanliness and to check if there is any refurbishment needed.

The chief executive also conducted an inspection on the ongoing repainting of the entire perimeter fence of the San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish which was funded out of her own pocket.

According to Mayor Alice, such assistance only shows her love and support to the church including all its initiatives and activities.

Back to the municipal grounds, she also went around and visited the ongoing painting of the Winnie the Pooh section in the Children’s Playground.
