The activities of Mayor Alice today started with a lot of project visits, most notable of them is the inspection at the ongoing repairs of the children’s playground within the Municipal Complex.
The repair works is personally being supervised by Councilor Raymond Prestoza. Councilors under Mayor Alice’s administration has been given each their area of concern to work on and supervise to make sure that all the programs and projects being implemented by the Executive Department is properly managed.
Also during the day, the mayor visited the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office to check for its readiness in the event of an emergency– either request for rescue, or during typhoon and disasters. The MDRRMO has just organized its mandated units—Operations and Warning Unit, Admin and Training Unit, and the Research and Planning Unit. A medical station has been also set up at the façade of the MDRRMO manned by an Emergency Medical Technician which offers BP check and related services.
The mayor also meet with the Local School Board and school heads to discuss various developmental programs as well as the much needed policies and regulations that will improve students achievements in all public schools of San Nicolas.
In the afternoon, Mayor Alice engaged in a meeting with the officials of TESDA to finalize some projects that would be needed in advancing technical skills of jobless San Nicolanians especially those who didn’t have the chance to go to college. The mayor plans to conduct short courses on electrical installation, passers of which will then be hired by the local government to aid in the current and future projects of the local government.
Winding up the day is her visit and supervision of the continuing clean-up and pruning of the trees at the town’s cemetery in preparation for the typhoon season.
