To strengthen school sports programs that complement classroom learning and provide opportunities for students to engage in physical activities regularly, Mayor Alicia Primicias-Enriquez spearheaded the turnover ceremony of sports equipment to DepEd Districts 1 and 2 of San Nicolas, Pangasinan.

This initiative included a generous assortment of essential athletic gear, such as 2 hurdles, 2 javelins (600 grams), 3 javelins (800 grams), 2 discus throws (1 kg), 3 discus throws (1.5 kg), 3 shot puts (7 kg), 2 shot puts (4 kg), 5 measuring tapes, 2 timers and stopwatches, 10 indoor volleyballs, 10 beach volleyballs, a whistle, 4 scoreboards, 4 nets and antennas, and 8 line judge flags.

Joining Mayor Alice in a spirit of collaboration were Committee Chairman on Education Councilor Amorsolo Pulido, along with Councilors Jun Serquiña, Queen Descargar, and Kiko Bravo. They were joined by PSDS Dra. Imelda Lazaro and various dedicated school heads and sports coordinators, all united in their commitment to enhancing school sports.

During the ceremony, Mayor Alice reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to supporting the Department of Education’s mission and vision. The mayor highlighted the transformative impact of sports, emphasizing how it cultivates discipline, teamwork, and resilience among students. “Investing in sports means investing in the future,” she said, adding that the initiative bridges academics and athletics, equipping students with tools to excel both on the field and in the classroom.
