Recognizing the critical role of home visitation in mitigating the devastating impacts of the pandemic on healthcare service delivery, Mayor Alice personally delivered assistive devices to patients in Brgy. Siblot on January 21, 2022.
On Friday morning, 5 patients received single cane, quad cane, and wheelchair from the local government and got the chance to be visited by the mayor.
“During this challenging time, San Nicolanians need emotional and social support. As a doctor myself, I find happiness in meeting and looking after my constituents particularly the sick and needy,” Mayor Alice said.
The lady mayor also gave medical prescriptions and provided maintenance needs such as Losartan, Amlodipine, and Vitamin B Complex to the patients.
Residents of San Nicolas are open to request assistive devices from the Mayor’s Office anytime.
In Brgy. Lungao, Mayor Alice also made a follow-up visit to a male patient diagnosed with depression.
Last visited in August 2021, the patient was reminded by the mayor that his ultimate recovery is in his hands.
Mayor Alice said that this is an issue close to her heart because she knows many people who are experiencing depression, anxiety, and helplessness at this very difficult time.
Asked why she still does home visitation despite her busy schedule, Mayor Alice simply replied, “I was called to serve the people. This makes me happy and I’ll never get tired of this.”
