As part of its advancer activity in the observance of “World Read Aloud Day” celebrated every February of each year, Basa Bookstore conducted a two-day book-giving caravan benefiting 8 elementary schools.

Mayor Alice said the recipient schools include Camindoroan ES with 58 books, Malico ES with- 100, Bangar ES with 16, Kulangew ES with 14, Sapinit ES with 38, Pastoran ES with 16, Puyao ES with 39, and Talingkapor ES with around 100.

The book-giving project was personally led by Mr. Rey Bufi, founder and Basa Bookstore and executive director of ‘The Storytelling Project’ as well as Sectoral Representative for Storytellers in the Philippine Board on Books for Young people (PBBY). Joining him in the distribution is Mr. Larry Monserate Piojo.

The book-giving project, facilitated by Ms. Ningning Doble of Synergeia Foundation, is part of the book-giving caravan of Basa Bookstore in support of schools implementing modular learning approach, which, accordingly, is a component of its mission to promote the ingenuity of Filipino authors and publishers by bringing their works closer to communities across the country.

Aside from the book-giving project, Basa Bookstore also offers story-telling at the park as well as conducts various art-related trainings and workshops all over the country.
