Municipal Mayor Alicia L. Primicias-Enriquez and Municipal Councilor Amorsolo Pulido led the two-day distribution of healthy food packs to 536 pre-school students as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect lives in the municipality.

Each preschooler received 2 packs of freshly-baked Nutri-buns, 1 pack of NutriMilk Choco, 3 packs of plain Rimo Blend, 1 pack of Choco Rimo Blend, 5 pieces of fresh eggs, 2 kilos of commercial regular milled rice, 1 pack of all-purpose flour, 1 pack of dried monggo, 3 packs of vegetable oils, 1 can of evaporated milk, 4 cans of sardines, 2 cans of corned beef, 2 cans of canned tuna, 1 pack of bihon, and 1 elbow macaroni pasta.

The said distribution which is part of DSWD’s Supplemental Feeding Program, was successfully done through the efforts of the Municipal Social and Welfare Development (MSWD) personnel headed by Ms. Delia Dalutag.

Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) is the provision of food in addition to the regular meals to children currently enrolled in the day care centers as part of the DSWD’s contribution to the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) program of the government.

A database of students, classified per barangay was created for the efficient delivery of the healthy food packs and tracking of the distribution process. During the distribution to the Child Day Care Centers, only parents or official guardians of the student were allowed to receive the packs.

Each of them expressed thanks and showed gratitude to Mayor Alice and the local government for the initiatives to provide healthy food packs to every preschooler amid the 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
