Mayor Alice’s day started with the distribution of workbooks for Grade 2 and 3 students of West Central Elementary School from San Roque Power Corporation and Synergeia Foundation. SRPC was represented by Vice President Mr. Tommy Valdez. Also present were Vice Mayor Alvin Bravo and Councilor Amorsolo Pulid .

Synergeia Foundation is a coalition of individuals, institutions, and organizations all working together and doing whatever it takes to make education work in their localities.

The book-giving activity is part of the Foundation’s “Reading Proficiency Program” and SRPC’s corporate social responsibility aimed at improving learning outcomes, particularly early grade reading in the country.

The mayor expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the initiative noting the importance of books among learners saying, “it generally helps our young learners to develop the habit of reading and learning and eventually opening their thoughts.”

Back at the Municipal Building, Mayor Alice attended to various callers requesting for financial and medical assistance including courtesy calls of heads of various civil society and non-government organizations in San Nicolas. Most notable of which is the visit of Annak Ti San Nicolas headed by Mr. Manuel Mejia who reported to her the outcome of bamboo-planting project in the town specifically in the riversides in partnership with various local organizations.

Also during the day, Mayor Alice, along with Vice Mayor Alvin Bravo and the rest of the members of the Sangguniang Bayan of San Nicolas spearheaded the local government’s celebration of National Nutrition Month wherein they also rendered “Girl in the Mirror” dance, a dance which remarkably identified with Pagbabago Team headed by her during the height of the campaign season.

Concluding the day is another set of Clean-Up Activity at the town’s market which includes even the main gutter. The clean-up was also participated in by the officials of Barangays Nagkaysa, Poblacion East, Poblacion West, and Casaratan
