1. PLAYING SANTA TO SCHOOLS

This meeting with school heads of all public schools turned an early Christmas treat as she released P60,000 worth of projects for each school–all 41 elementary and high school of San Nicolas–as the LGU assistance for the yearly Brigada Eskwela project. All the school heads got their unexpected surprise and went back to their respective campuses overflowing with joy and gratitude. Mayor Alice was joined by Sangguniang Bayan members headed by Vice Mayor Alvin O. Bravo.

2. 4Ps ADVISORY COUNCIL MEET

Attended by all members of the Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) of the town’s 4Ps, Mayor Alice presided the meeting to address the prevailing issues and concerns confronting the poverty reduction strategy program of the government to the extremely poor households in this part of the country. Also present were the MSWDO Delia Dalutag and Ms. Sunshine Cabusora, who is 4Ps focal person.

3. STUDENT EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

Mayor Alice also had a quick meeting with Human Resource Manager Alma Martinez to finalize this year’s launching of SPES or the Special Program for Employment of Students, a bridging mechanism that enables student beneficiaries to gain skills and workplace experience. It is DOLE’s enriching program to provide temporary employment to poor but deserving students, out-of-school youth, and dependents of displaced workers to augment the family’s income to help ensure that beneficiaries are able to pursue their education. Those interested to join the program–aged 15 to 30 yrs old—can have themselves enlisted through the Mayor’s Office.

4. VACCINATION SIMULATION PREP

Mayor Alice also had another quick meeting with the MLGOO in preparation for next week’s simulation of the vaccination for Covid-19 in collaboration with the DOH.

5. WOMEN’s GROUP MEET

Another collaborative meeting was conducted by the Kababaihan group of San Nicolas with Mayor Alice in attendance to discuss the town’s support for their livelihood programs.

6. NATIONAL ID SYSTEM

As the country started rolling out the national ID System following the implementation of the Philippine Identification System Act, Mayor Alice had a meeting with officials of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for the launching of the issuance of the said single official identification card for all citizens of San Nicolas that integrates and interconnects various government-issued IDs. The National ID contains 10 pieces of demographic information, including the holder’s full name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, blood type, and address. The ID also contain biometric data including a facial image, a full set of fingerprints, and an iris scan.
