Deeply concerned about the situation of the elderlies and persons with chronic illnesses especially those with mobility problems, most of whom are confined to their homes due to the unavailability of assistive devices, Mayor Alice is back to home visitations and distribution of applicable devices, and this time it’s in Barangays Sta Maria East, Siblot, Poblacion East, Nagkaysa, and San Roque.
The regular visitation is part of Mayor Alice’s “Bringing the government closer to the people” program that aims to let San Nicolanian communities especially those in the far-flung areas to further feel the presence of the local government through the delivery of social services.
“For me, it is a critical point for any local administration. It is important for the people to know that we value them and we care for them, but it is more significant if we will deliver these services to the community where they belong to ease their burden. Besides, we are the ones blessed with the mobility and the means to do it so we have no reason not to enjoy in doing it,” she beamingly said.
During her visit, the doctor-mayor visited five patients in five different houses, gave them a check-up and advices on their medications, and provided each of them assistive devices.
