Mayor Alice had a productive meeting with Mr. Alfredo C. Reyes, the project director of San Miguel Power Corporation.

The centerpiece of our conversation was the proposed 800 MW San Roque Lower East Storage Pump-Storage Project, along with the San Roque Optimization Project (Pump-Back System).

As they delved into the details, it became clear that this ambitious initiative could significantly enhance the municipality’s revenue and open up a wealth of job opportunities for San Nicolanians. The excitement in the room was palpable, as they envisioned the positive impact this project could have on our town’s future.

San Roque Hydropower Inc. (SHI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of San Miguel Global Power (SMGP), is currently navigating the process of securing the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) and the Special Land Use Permit (SLUP). This meeting was crucial in advancing those efforts and ensuring that they are on the right path.

Accompanying Mayor Alice were Vice Mayor Alvin Bravo, Councilors Jun Serquiña and Leomar Saldivar, as well as Barangay Officials PB Joel Bartolome of San Felipe West and PB Buenaventura Agne of San Felipe East. Their presence underscored the collaborative spirit of our local government, united in our shared goal of fostering progress for San Nicolas.

They didn’t just discuss possibilities but actively paved the way for a brighter, more prosperous future for this beloved town! 💡🌱
