All Saint’s Day was made extra-special in San Nicolas, Pangasinan as its first-ever Tanghalan sa Undas was conducted last November 1, 2019 at the Municipal Cemetery under the leadership of Mayor Alicia L. Primicias-Enriquez.

Competitions such as Singing Contest, Halloween Costume and Dance Explosion were held as a triple-fun way to celebrate this year’s Undas. Several groups from different municipalities participated in the event. 34 entries in Singing Category, 12 in Costume Category and 8 groups in Dance Category.

The crowd was so astonished of the efforts that the candidates gave off to prepare for the competitions. Mayor Alice said, “Sobrang gagaling ng mga contestants; kahit first-time palang itong gawin dito sa San Nicolas, halatang-halatang pinaghandaan nila ng todo.” The audience also appreciated the effort turned in by Mayor Alice to spearhead this event.

The top three winners of the singing contest and Halloween costume were given Php 5,000, Php 3,000 and Php 2,000, respectively. While the top three victorious groups for dance explosion were awarded with Php 10,000 , Php 7,000 and Php 5,000, respectively. A consolation prize of 500 pesos each was given.

However, the venue itself was improved after a clean-up drive project initiated by Mayor Alice. A newly-cemented road also welcomes the people of San Nicolas as they celebrate the holiday. These improvements and projects really contributed on the welfare of the citizens during the events. “Malaking tulong itong mga ginawa ni Mayor sa sementeryo dahil mas naging maayos ito para sa mga taong dadalaw sa puntod at manunuod ng mga contest,” a citizen commented.

With all of this, Mayor Alice sends its gratitude to all of the people who supported the first-time events. Due to its success, this will already be a yearly way of celebrating All Saint’s Day in San Nicolas.
