Saturday is still work day for Mayor Alicia Primicias-Enriquez as she devoted most of her time today in various meetings, most notable of which, is her comprehensive meeting with the architects and engineers with regards to the ongoing renovation of the Municipal Hall’s façade as well as other possible improvement plans at the Municipal Complex to better serve the people of San Nicolas.

This Saturday is also another “Volunteer Day” for hundreds of volunteers comprised from various sectors as they went back to the town’s cemetery as early as 6:00am to finally accomplish the unfinished task of yesterday’s Bayanihan clean-up.

Clad in a Military uniform, former Congresswoman Marlyn Primicias-Agabas, who is currently the Brigade Commander of Philippine Army’s 1601st Ready Reserve Infantry Brigade, 1st RCDG, ARESCOM, with a rank of Colonel, represented Mayor Alice to the activity and even joked that “one of the strange things when you are already out of politics and living a civilian life is that you get to be sent by your younger sister who is now the town mayor,” eliciting laughter from the participants.

The former congresswoman, before heading to her appointment in Camp Tito Abat in Manaog, cheered all the participants for taking the time in joining the clean-up drive which, she said, has been helping a lot in the cleanliness and orderliness campaign launched by Mayor Alice together with her Team Pagbabago. Also joining the activity were Councilors Kiko Bravo, Raymond Prestoza, Queen Descargar, and Jun Serquiña. Gerry Manangan who is among Team Pagbabago also joined in supervising the throng of volunteers.

In the afternoon, Mayor Alice hired the services of Malabanan Septic Tank Services to clear the clogged slaughterhouse for it to improve its operations. Deprived for many years of regular cleaning and obviously of clearing its waterways and septic tanks of waste materials, the slaughterhouse has earned the moniker “slaughtered house” to the dismay of a lot of San Nicolanians.

“That is about to change,” Mayor Alice vowed.

Relatedly, Mayor Alice sent a team today to further prune some tree branches which pose danger to the pedestrian along the sidewalk within the perimeter of the Municipal Complex.
